THE CONSITUTION CALLED IT THE "STATE OF THE UNION" AND NOT THE "STATE OF THE NATION"

THE PRESIDENT IS THE CHIEF OF THE UNION OF THE STATES AND HIS ADDRESS SHOULD JUST BE ABOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE UNION:
U.S. Constitution - Article 2 Section 3
Article 2 - The Executive Branch
Section 3 - State of the Union, Convening Congress

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; ...

OBAMA'S PLAGIARIZED ADDRESS IMPLICITLY PRESUMED THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EQUALS THE NATION, AND HE PROCEEDED TO TALK ABOUT THE NATION AS IF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD RUN THE WHOLE DANG THING.

IT'S SHOULDN'T - AND IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL WHEN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TRIES TO.

THE CONSTITUTION SET UP THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AS A LIMITED GOVERNMENT WHICH GOT IT'S LIMITED POWERS FROM THE STATES AND THE PEOPLE.

OBAMA AND THE LIBERALS CONFLATE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WITH THE NATION AS A WHOLE.

THIS IS ONE OF THE ROOT CAUSES OF A LOT OF THE LEFT'S AWFUL STATIST POLICIES AND WHY THEY THINK THE POTUS SHOULD USE THE SOTU TO TELL US WHAT WE NEED TO DO IN NEARLY ALL FACETS OF OUR LIVES.

IT'S BS.

IT'S BS WHEN FOLKS SAY "OUR NATION IS IN DEBT"; IN FACT IT AIN'T THE NATION, IT'S THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS GET THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO BE MORE LIMITED AND LESS EXPENSIVE.

THAT WILL MAKE OUR NATION MORE PROSPEROUS AND FREER.
