TEACHER'S : IDEALISM AND PRAGMATISM

In Indonesia, the ideals of being a teacher, perhaps including the ideals that are very expensive, because it is almost a small part of Indonesia who aspire to become teachers or interested (Magazine Education 16-01-01). Does it work as a teacher requires special expertise, whether it is also because the teachers work does not produce returns that are attractive.

Every job includes at least two consequences. First, the devotion and the second is a profession. Devotion to the teacher is an integral part in all activities. Of course this applies to those who understand the real work.

Professional teacher, anywhere, not a profession that can indentity with prosperous life, but more oriented to the devotion and quiet life. If there are Indonesian children who aspire to become teachers, is really very encouraging.

Knowing about a person's attitude and outlook on life that underlies his work can be categorized in two ways, namely, idealism and pragmatism. People who have the attitude and outlook on life which is based on noble values and ideals of noble referred to as the people who have ideals. In the meantime, people who have views and attitudes that are based on maximum benefit advantage of the many options available in front, called a pragmatic person.

Idealism, in the opinion of the philosophers, understood as saying that the core of something that is what is in the idea (natural mind), while what's in the nature of reality is just a shadow of what's in the nature of ideas. Because only a shadow, then the object is in fact not the essence (the real thing). Fluidity of natural objects, in fact, from small to large, from simply become obsolete and eventually destroyed, is proof that the object does not exist. Our body is our body today not yesterday, and tomorrow our bodies are not our bodies that exist today. Age and lose some of enegi that is in us, causing us that now is not who we are yesterday. 

Therefore, the change from second to second is a necessity, so that will hurt someone if he's a waste of time has elapsed, for you will not be repeated again in the future. Simply being an idealist, someone could be called can be seen from the extent to which people's views and attitudes of his life focuses on "what should be done" in accordance with the existing values and believe in him. Meanwhile, those who emphasize the pragmatic view of life in what might be done and most direct benefit.

Indeed, the profession that teachers should be based on the values of idealism rather than pragmatism. This is because the teaching profession is a profession directly related to living creatures (humans) are not inanimate objects. The object of the targeted teaching profession is always dynamic, changing and evolving, so that policy required him to read the signs of age in the hand, then he is doing something tangible to prepare and give birth the next generation can also inherit the wisdom of his predecessor.
