Speaker Martin and Vicious Police Brutality

The Master Maggot Michael Martin instead of upholding the independence of the House of Commons has presided over an expenses system which allowed wholesale corruption of Members of Parliament, particularly those lobby fodder on the Government benches, allowing fascist tendencies to flourish within the executive under the lying regimes of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

This has led to the emergence of a police state with its Big Brother implications everywhere to be seen and experienced.

In turn the police have been encouraged to adopt brutalising procedures against the people they are supposed to serve, watch the latest video from Sky News from here.

Speaker Martin should be removed as a first step in the recovery of Britain's Parliament, its democracy and the nation's independence.

Incredible after viewing the terrifying video posted on this blog first thing this morning and that of yesterday from the Sunday Times, but in the Telegraph we have Sir Ken Jones, the president of the Association of Chief Police Officers, robustly defending the policing of the G20 protests, insisting it was "proportionate". Police and the Taser

The Times is doing a first rate job of reporting on the now clearly multiple abuses of power surrounding the G20 summit. Less so regarding the 114 people arrested for merely contemplating a protest in Nottinghamshire and reported to involve four separate police forces.

Opposition must end charade of parliament without power

Unhappily this is a headline in an Irish newspaper this morning, the Irish Independent, linked here, for the same surely goes double for Britain's emasculated Westminster Parliament now lying at the heart of a police state as an EU province or district.

Of course the Mainstream Media will not admit such a fact, they are too cowed, but they drop hints, the bravest are Rachel Sylvester and Alice Thomson in The Times, linked here, where this quote appears

"In an interview with The Times, Mr Green warned that his arrest and the raids on his Commons office and homes smacked of a “police state”. The Tory immigration spokesman said that Ms Chakrabarti’s name had been one of the keywords used to go through e-mails and computer documents going back several years."

So the evident fact of a "police state' is at least mentioned by two journalists.... Well Done.

The Leading Article in The Independent also sets it out in strong terms but hesitates to draw the obvious conclusion, read it from here, and note this telling statement on the certain cause:

The common imprint on each of these stories is that of the unaccountable and rampant executive arm of the British state.

And concludes with these words:

We need a completely new approach. Any powers granted to public authorities to protect public safety must come with strict conditions of accountability. The police, in particular, need to be brought under much tighter control.

Whichever party forms the next government needs to take back those powers that should never have been conferred. But more than this, it must expunge the mentality that says security always trumps freedom. It is time our arrogant executive was put back in its rightful place.

This implies that delay beyond the next election is acceptable, yet the criticism of the executive casts doubt whether such an election might not be deferred indefinitely due to the worsening economic situation, given that in the Leading Article's own words the executive is 'unaccountable' and 'rampant' and has allowed the police to become 'out of control'!

The Guardian has its own sorry tale that highlights all this from a protester who planned to picket a Nottingham Power Station last week, this harrowing account, made anonymously for fear from police threats, involves 114 people and may be read here. A quote:

Then at bedtime a woman appeared saying the police had surrounded the building and should she let them in. "But before anyone could answer, there was a commotion and the door came crashing down and a couple of hundred police swarmed in."

The protesters were told to face the wall and were handcuffed, he said.

"They had their hands cuffed behind their backs and were left standing there for an hour and a half while the police searched the building. There were lots of people there who had never had so much as a parking ticket and some of them were really quite shaken."

Protesters were taken one by one into a room where they were formally arrested and filmed, and then led out into the car park.

"The street had been closed off and there were 20 police vans there and that is when it became clear this was an operation that had been planned for a long time.

Jacqui Smith de-humanises the British Police

An interesting speculation on those ultimately responsible for the present state of Britain, namely the Labour Government, came to mind this evening.

"If the Home Secretary, with the main responsibility for law enforcement within the UK, was the female being slapped and beaten in this video, what might you then be feeling?"

Also watch the man trying to get out from the police cordon. Who authorised such action, even if it is this same foul and completely corrupted Jacqui Smith - I would argue that in any still slightly civilised society - she still would not deserve this treatment!

Second Tomlinson Post-Mortem raises many gruesome questions

The first concern on this latest news is the rushed and woefully inaccurate initial post-mortem and how the first coroner was selected and instructed? One press report is here.

As the whole method of policing and their training is now called into question, the fact that initial reports are to the effect that the policeman suspected of having delivered the shove to Mr Tomlinson has been questioned under caution on potential manslaughter charges brings small comfort.

Once again it is the present and former Home Secretaries who must now take ultimate responsibility.

'Kettling' as first seen in Oxford Circus several years ago would always inevitably lead to just such a situation. The pictures of several police standing nonchalantly nearby as the man died best raises many other unanswered questions for me.

Power Station Arrests

The mass arrest, involving three police forces, prompted renewed concern about the tactics of officers policing environmental protests, particularly over expansion of airports and coal power.

Last night campaigners said police were photographing and stopping people entering and leaving public meetings and the offices of the lobby group Greenpeace.

Policing of the recent G20 protests has also come under scrutiny after video evidence suggested the newspaper vendor Ian Tomlinson died minutes after being pushed from behind by a police officer.

Caroline Lucas, leader of the Green party, said that with no charges more than 12 hours after the arrests, "confidence in policing of protests like this has just about hit rock bottom.

114 arrested over SUSPICION they might protest

As I indicated earlier another story about power station protesters has been developing all day, but I could hardly of predicted that the arrests have been made upon the suspicion that the MIGHT be a protest, Read the BBC report, linked here.

More than 100 people have been arrested in Nottingham over a suspected plan to target a power station.

Police said 114 men and women were arrested in Sneinton Dale on suspicion of conspiracy to commit aggravated trespass and criminal damage.

Officers said they believed those arrested were planning to protest at nearby Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station.

Lost liberties

The great newspaper of the North of England, The Northern Echo, had a great feature article on Thursday of last week regarding the police crack down against peaceful protests. I missed this due to the sheer volume of other items upon which to blog, but link it now and offer this taster the title of which is "Why police need to be reined in"(I believe another power station protest story is about to break)

This catalogue of abuses comes hard on the heels of the disgraceful, unprovoked violence when a climate change camp was set up to protest against a new coal-fired power station in Kent.

Then, the “potentially dangerous” items seized by police included blankets, soap, toilet rolls, board games, clown costumes, children’s crayons, cushions, carpet, marker pens and a pensioner’s walking stick.

Justifying such draconian action, the police claimed 70 officers were injured – only to later admit that the only “injuries” were heat exhaustion, toothache, insect bites, diarrhoea, cut fingers and headaches.

I am fast coming to the conclusion that the police are out of control and that anyone joining a peaceful demonstration risks a trip to hospital – or even the morgue.
