The Mawkish Madness of Mrs Merkel.

From last week, only German voters will any longer have democratic say in the running of the 27 former nation states of the EU!  Germany's leader, Frau Merkel was proclaimed triumphant as she swept all before her at the EU summit which ended last weekend!

11 - 3 - 11 the date of that EU meeting, would thereafter be symbolically carved on the tombstones of Europe's democracies, just as this blog surmised but feared on the morning of that day.

Yet it was another event, occurring almost simultaneously that day, in Fukushima, as long feared, whose consequences now highlight the enormity of the disaster into which the EU is sleepwalking, and the idiotic ludicrousness of Europe's almost half a billion citizens, putting their fate into the hands of such an electorate and the kind of leaders it produces, leaders crying out to be replaced by saner,  no doubt crueller and therefore potentially non-democratic versions of humanity.

How long will the Germans allow themselves to be ruled by feminine intuition and impulsive emotionalism and what will their replacements' attitude be to their deliberately economically crushed, and therefore fawningly dependent, subjugated neighbouring states?

Der Spiegel, has an article, linked here, claiming that Mrs Merkel's announcement of the immediate shutdown of several older nuclear power stations in Germany, (following the tsunami in Japan) is based on political calculations in the face of local elections in Germany due this month. It is headlined as follows:

Securing UK Energy supplies - The Bacton Interconnector and Huhne vs Redwood.

My first post today, considers how the world might best begin to address a potential energy supply shortage and urges that the IEA, rather than the EU, be involved in running any such programme. Assuming that can be achieved, how then may the corrupt EU be kept from any inolvement in allocating supplies within the 27 countries of the EU, its sticky-fingered and morally unprincipled officials could almost certainly be relied upon to establish the basic principle as one of self-enrichment for themselves likely resulting in supply priority for the wealthiest?

The Lisbon Treaty, among its many other deep and disgraceful flaws, states the following on energy:

An important policy in relation to energy is that a new part on energy is added to the TFEU with one article (Title XXI with article 194 in the consolidated TFEU, title XX with article 176A in the Lisbon Treaty). The article is relatively short, it reads:

"1.In the context of the establishment and functioning of the internal market and with regard for the need to preserve and improve the environment, Union policy on energy shall aim, in a spirit of solidarity between Member States, to:
(a) ensure the functioning of the energy market;
(b) ensure security of energy supply in the Union;
(c) promote energy efficiency and energy saving and the development of new and renewable forms of energy; and
(d) promote the interconnection of energy networks.

2. Without prejudice to the application of other provisions of the Treaties, the European Parliament and the Council, acting in accordance with the ordinary legislative procedure, shall establish the measures necessary to achieve the objectives in paragraph 1. Such measures shall be adopted after consultation of the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions.

Clearly, with such ludicrous and practically meaningless verbiage, the potential for many months of pointless bickering and all the usual EU failures must quickly appear.

To ensure there is no misunderstanding as to Britain's views on where energy sovereignty starts and ends, I suggest the government moves immediately to place the British end of that facility, immediately under its control by use of a strong military presence.

Replacement of the former EU MEP and EU quisling Chris Huhne as Energy Secretary, by a robust Conservative such as John Redwood should ideally be carried out concurrently!

German jackboot increases the pressure on Europe's jugular!

The following are the concluding paragraphs to an article in this morning's Daily Telegraph, linked here, on the capitulation of the EU states to huge sacrifices of sovereignty to the Germans:

   Popular revolt is the dog that has not barked since the long slump began. This may just be a question of time. The pattern of the 1930s is that deep alienation starts in year three as austerity grinds on, and in this case tensions on the eurozone perip(h)ery can only turn nastier as the ECB tightens monetary policy.

   What is clear is that sovereign states are being forced to cut wages and dismantle parts of their welfare state under foreign diktat, with a gun held to their heads. This will not be forgotten lightly. The character of the European Project has changed utterly.

Emergency ECB Borrowing and Germany's Euro Imperialism (continued).

I blogged yesterday on Ireland's coming default and Germany's Euro Imperialism, here and here. Both topics require further explanation and elaboration.

Something very fishy is going on between Ireland, presently without a government during its election campaign, and the ECB. An article in the Irish Times this morning, linked here, titled "Irish banks spark surge in emergency ECB borrowing" includes this startling information:

The lenders have used about €15 billion in bonds – State-backed IOUs – issued by the National Asset Management Agency as collateral, or security, to borrow the money.

The Nama bonds, however, are being auctioned with the deposits so they could no longer be used to support week-long loans, given that their sale is expected shortly.

This forced Anglo and Irish Nationwide to swap their existing week-long loans with the ECB for overnight borrowings to pave the way for a quick sale to take place.

The Irish Central Bank referred queries to the ECB, which said it did not comment on the borrowings of individual banks. Anglo, Irish Nationwide and the National Treasury Management Agency, which manages the Government’s banking interests, had no comment either.

The study by Richard Conquest on German Economic Policy and the Euro 1999 - 2010, linked from this blog yesterday and again from here, had the following comments on ECB chief, Jean-Claude Trichet's role in the aggressive destruction of the economies of the EU's non-German economies, which I have branded on this blog German Euro Imperialism, which is almost exactly along the lines of the eventual complete economic domination of Europe prdicted in my novel Millennium Blitzkrieg, published in 2000, which predicted that by 2014, with Europe subdued, German ambitions would turn to the USA. How could it ever have been seriously argued that the fast-growing Spain, with its enormous trade and current account deficits, apparent well before the coming of the Euro, should share a common interest and exchange rate policy with a slow-growing and export dependent Germany, luxuriating in huge trade and current account surpluses? It was always a recipe for disaster but the political class, including Trichet, are in their comfortable state of denial and of course, in receipt of lavish rewards for their incompetence.1

Can it be any surprise to learn that Trichet is the latest recipient of the ‘Vision for Europe’ award? Previous laureates have included Jacques Santer, Jean-Claude Juncker, Jean-Luc Dehaene and Helmut Kohl, a depressing and dreary collection of functionaries in the ‘leadership’ of Europe. This award is granted ‘in recognition of outstanding achievements in taking Europe into the future’; self-evidently an exercise in fatuity.The first recipient of this self-congratulatory award was Jacques Santer, former EU President, forced from his extravagant sinecure by Paul Van Buitenen’s devastating accusations of corruption and fraud.

This grim situation has prompted intermittent debate in Italy’s political and economic circles about the desirability or not of that country remaining within the Eurozone – whatever fatuous noises Trichet might make on this issue. The problem then is that this debate is now a matter of concern to German economists and politicians.

Unfortunately there can be no such happy ending to the nightmare of the Euro. Although its disintegration would be economically beneficial in the long term, its demise will be extremely destructive in the near to medium term. The example of the UK simply illustrates that there is life after Euro-folly. However, in the same way that we could not expect that the government would deliver Britain from the absurdities of the ERM, so Europe cannot expect that the likes of Herman Van Rompuy, Manuel Barosso, Jean Claude Trichet and the other grandees and potentates of Europe will deliver the Eurozone from the destructive absurdities of the Euro.

Germans to control NYSE under merger terms!

In a somewhat different manner I predicted just such a US Capitalism takeover attempt, in my novel Millennium Blitzkrieg, published in New York by Vantage Press in 2000, the  ISBN number was 0-533613213-4 and it was written in the late nineteen-nineties. According to the merger agreement, detailed here, last evening, the control of the New York Stock Exchange will be as follows:

Reuters reports that 55 percent of the shareholders in the merged company will be from the United States, 11 percent from Germany, 11 percent from the U.K. and 23 percent from elsewhere. Current shareholders of the German exchange will control 60 percent of the new company and will own 10 of 17 board seats.

Yesterday I blogged that CME from Chicago might make a hostile bid to save the home of US Capitalism, the latest I have found on that is here.

By the bye, in my book the final assault on the largest US Corporations by the Germans did not occur until the summer of 2014, so there is still much time to see how close I was !

Germany rampant!

As Germany booms while the peripheral countries of the EU face economic collapse it seems timely to remind my blog readers of my predictions of the likely end game to the EU in my novel, 'Millennium Bltizkrieg,' written in the late nineteen-nineties, with its conclusion in July 2014. This extract comes from page 261.

"The German Chancellor, who had so carefully planned the occasion, had not mixed with his guests on the terrace, but had sat in a small room reviewing his notes for his after dinner speech, which he felt sure would be remembered and replayed for years ahead, marking this moment as a turning point in the history of his country.  The speech, while mentioning Bismark and that day's one hundredth anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, would only briefly dwell on the previous century, which while eventually ending satisfactorily, had also had its darker periods.  The future would be what the chancellor would emphasize, a new beginning for his country, which unknown to his audience, stood poised to imminently capture the giants of American industry through the quirks of their very own free market system.  This event would, he knew, far overshadow the achievements of his immediate predecessors, who in the few short years since reunification of their own country had, apparently unknowingly, created such a power vacuum at the heart of Europe that he had now been able to smoothly take control."

We now have very little time left to regather our wits and call a halt to the EU juggernaut. Little hope of that, it appears, when the Daily Express petition on the EU., presented to Downing Street, this week, only gathered  373,000 signatures. Must we wait until misery reaches Egyptian levels of despair, before the British people wake up to what they have lossed, through the treachery of all three of their main political parties?

Open Europe, Bertelsmann and Millennium Blitzkrieg

Open Europe has become an excellent monitor of the encroachments of the EU against democracy but should be wary of those who may wish to distract it from what should be its objective which I believe should be the restoration of democracy to the former nations of Europe by a return of indivisible sovereignty to their Parliaments.

My novel Millennium Blitzkrieg, written in the mid-nineteen-nineties supposed a fictional German Chancellor plotting the subjugation of Europe from the beginning of the new millennium to triumph and be announced on the centenary of the assasination that sparked the First World War in the summer of 2014. This plot is thwarted by a youthful but vain British Conservative Prime Minister mostly contrived and aided by a craftier and much more subtle political side-kick.

The novel was accepted for publication by Macmillan's the one time British family publishing firm connected with former Conservative Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan. Bertelsmann aquired the firm and unsurprisingly the offer to publish Millennium Blitzkrieg was withdrawn! Such is life. Copies of the book are still available from Amazon, link or somewhat cheaper by e-mail to the author in new condition dedicated as you may wish although supplies are limited.

Germany owns Ireland AND the UK

I quote below an interesting extract from a column in the Irish Independent by Davi McWilliams, linked here:

The other day I met a German radio presenter from ARD, the German public radio station. I've known her for quite a while -- since a brief spell working on the German economy in the 1990s for an investment bank. She, like many other foreign correspondents, has been sent to Ireland to see what is going on here.

After a while, I wondered why she hadn't asked me anything about the Government, or the prospect of an election or what new political constellation might emerge here. She joked and in an exaggerated German accent laughed: "David, it doesn't matter who your next prime minister is, he will have no power -- we own you now, and he will do what we tell him."

The problem is that the joke is on us. She touched on the nub of the issue: the Irish elite is prepared to sell the sovereignty of this country to protect the likes of Roman Abramovich and other vulture investors who bought up third-rate Irish banking debt at a discount and are hoping to get paid in full.

Finally the truth as to why we have been pushed into the EU is slowly coming out, just at the moment when the Conservative Party at its non-Conference is being serrupticiously put to sleep, and simultaneously with the deliberately contrived financial crisis further seeming to reduce our potential for freedom of independent action!

Only by removing ourselves from the EU can we hope to weather this crisis without the necessity of foreign totalitarian control!

Swedish PM Reinfeldt's threats strengthen Cameron's resolve

Mary Ellen Synon addresses the nasty threats to Britain from the present rotating President of the ever more totalitarian EU, read here.

As has happened in the past, nasty threats against the sovereign British people from self-important continentals often have the reverse effect than that intended. Note this passage from David Cameron's speech to his conference yesterday that followed the demeaning demands of the Swedish Prime Minister:

"We are just starting the job of building the new politics we need. Because the anger over expenses reflected something deeper. The sense that people have been left powerless by big government.

"So it is time to shake things up. We need to redistribute power and responsibility. It’s your community and you should have control over it......so we need decentralisation. It’s your money and you should know what is being done with it......so we need transparency. It’s your life that’s affected by political decisions and the people who make those decisions should answer to you, so we need accountability."

"But if there is one political institution that needs decentralisation, transparency, and accountability, it is the EU.

"For the past few decades, something strange has been happening on the left of British politics. People who think of themselves as progressives have fallen in love with an institution that no one elects, no one can remove, and that hasn’t signed off its accounts for over a decade.

"Indeed even to question these things is, apparently, completely beyond the pale. Well, here is a progressive reform plan for Europe.

"Let’s work together on the things where the EU can really help, like combating climate change, fighting global poverty and spreading free and fair trade.

"But let’s return to democratic and accountable politics the powers the EU shouldn’t have.

"And if we win the election, we will have as the strongest voice for our country’s interests, the man who is leading our campaign for a referendum, the man who will be our new British Foreign Secretary: William Hague."

I am just beginning to wonder if my novel, written in the mid nineteen-nineties, which had an at first rather dreamy, old-Etonian, youngish Conservative British Prime-Minister save the country and restore democracy to the EU in the year 2014, was not as completely fanciful as I have been coming to believe in recent years?????
